Head of School Weekly Update – 2/10/25

Dear Paragon Families,

As a Paragon parent, I am constantly reminded of how fortunate we are to have such exceptional teachers at Paragon. My own children, a 5th grader and a 1st grader, come home excited to share what they’ve learned. This week, even with a full basketball and family schedule, my girls eagerly tackled their homework, not because they have to, but because they genuinely enjoy what they are learning. That love for learning is nurtured by the amazing educators who bring their best game to every classroom.

Our 6th graders had the privilege of visiting a Buddhist, a Sikh, and a Hindu Temple last Thursday. Hearing of their thoughtful interactions in these sacred places is a testament to our teacher’s commitment to providing inspiration and context to their classrooms. I look forward to my daughter experiencing this transformational trip next year.

This month, I am visiting classrooms and seeing firsthand the remarkable work our teachers do each day. It is such a gift to observe the thoughtfulness and creativity they pour into their lessons, finding ways to engage every student and spark a sense of wonder. Whether it’s a hands-on science experiment, a thought-provoking discussion, or a carefully crafted writing assignment, our teachers create an environment where students feel challenged, supported, and motivated to grow.

What stands out to me the most is the joy in the classrooms. I see students leaning in, asking questions, and supporting one another as they work through new ideas. There is an energy in these spaces that is contagious—a testament to the strong relationships our teachers build with their students. They don’t just teach subjects; they nurture a love for learning that extends far beyond the classroom.

Being part of these classroom experiences has deepened my appreciation for our entire school community. It is clear that the culture of learning at Paragon is not just about academics—it’s about fostering curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong passion for knowledge. Our teachers set the tone, and our students rise to the challenge, eager to explore, create, and discover.

This sense of inspiration extends beyond just our students. As I watch our teachers in action, I find myself inspired as well. Their dedication, innovation, and enthusiasm make my job as Head of School not only easier but incredibly rewarding. We are so lucky to have educators who care deeply about every child, meeting them where they are and helping them reach their full potential.

Thank you for being a part of this special place!

With gratitude,

Lindsay Hay, M. Ed.
