Hello Paragon Families,
Happy first week back! I hope everyone is settling smoothly into the busy school routine and navigating the unpredictable weather with ease.
Over the break, I had the chance to unwind by working on a small-scale amusement ride model (pictured below) with my daughter. It was a fun, creative, and sometimes frustrating project that not only gave me a chance to relax but also strengthened my bond with my girl.
I realized that I do a lot of things “for” my kids, but I rarely get to do things “with” my kids. What a treat that was! I love puzzles, so this was an extra hard, delicate, and sometimes maddening project we tackled together. I will fondly remember how we worked together to put pieces precisely in the right spot and how we would both decide to just move on from a step when the parts did not fit like the picture :). Our swing does move and play music, but if left on too long, it will self-destruct. There is one loose wire that creates an avalanche of little wooden pieces if left on too long. Which is such a wonderful metaphor for life and this time in our lives.
That loose wire is a perfect example of if we are left on too long, work too much, do not rest and put all the pieces back every once in a while, our whole ride comes apart.
While I hear that so many of us are terrible at resting and recharging, I am hopeful for more experiences like this with my family. And every time I see this little model, it reminds me to slow down for a bit, do an activity with one of my kids, and don’t be on too long!
In school news, our Paragon staff is preparing for our January Parent Coffee and I hope you can join us as I will deliver a preview and state of the school address for next year. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect, reflect on our successes, and share an exciting vision for the future of Paragon.
Your partnership plays a vital role in shaping these plans, and I can’t wait to share how we can work together to make the next school year even more remarkable.
Bring your questions, ideas, and enthusiasm—your input is invaluable to this journey.
Let’s look forward together!
Warm regards,
